Since 1973 DA Cooper has been based in the heartland of the British steel industry and built a distinguished reputation in the steel processing, steel machining and stockholding industries. With an end product and customer services team that is second to none, we are in the enviable position of being able to respond to all the needs of our customers steel requirements.

Processing and Machining areas of specialism for DA Cooper include bar peeling, sawing, bloom and billet grinding, shot blasting, lathe turning, trepanning, vertical boring, deep hole boring, CNC machining and milling.

From an engineering viewpoint, DA Cooper have the ability to take a 42″ diameter bar in one end and convert it into a precision machined component the size of an ear-ring without it leaving our site in Rotherham.

That’s not something we do every day, but it’s a strong example of the kind of versatility we can demonstrate. Capability such as this is possible because of the continual level of investment we have made into our business to anticipate our customers’ needs and ensure we maintain an exceptional standard of service.

To ensure our highly skilled work gets to you safely, securely, and on time, we have our own transport fleet comprising of over 20 flat bed and curtain sided vehicles capable of carrying in excess of 28 tonnes each.  With our logistics experience, it means that not only could we deliver the machined ear-ring, but we can also collect the 22 tonne 42” diameter bar that it was made from.

Not only that, the driver of the vehicle will have been trained to HGV Class 1 by our own training company, DAC Training, who will have also trained our crane operator and fork lift driver. Our driver will have been recruited by our recruitment company, DAC Recruitment and ultimately hired by DA Cooper as a driver for our transport company, DA Cooper Transport.
